Privacy Policy

Fihrist Lab is sold by Glidd Software Labs LLC. The extension keeps research history, tracked products, saved niches, and settings in browser extension storage on the user's device. No research data is sent to or stored on any Fihrist server.

Local storage and tracking

Fihrist Lab uses browser storage to save the results of every feature the user runs, including niche scans, keyword lists, review analysis, category placements, and BSR/price history from The Tracker. Because this research data can grow large when tracking many books over time, the extension is granted expanded local storage so results aren't truncated. A background schedule runs once daily to refresh tracked products, and the user may receive a notification when a tracked product's rank, price, or category changes significantly. These notifications relate only to the user's own tracked products and are generated entirely on-device.

On-device analysis

The Opportunity Gap feature can optionally run a small AI model locally in the browser to summarize recurring complaints in 1–3 star reviews. When this feature is used, review text is processed on the user's own machine and is never transmitted to Fihrist or any third party.

Research requests

When a user starts a feature, the extension requests public pages from the supported Amazon marketplaces (amazon.com, amazon.co.uk, amazon.de, amazon.fr) or the USPTO trademark search site, limited to the pages needed to perform that specific research action. Fihrist Lab does not operate a research-data backend or analytics service, and does not include any remote or externally hosted code — all extension code ships within the installed package.

Purchase and license data

Fihrist Lab uses ExtensionPay together with Stripe to handle checkout, license verification, and purchase restoration. When a user restores a purchase, the extension collects the email address entered and passes it to ExtensionPay, which sends a temporary login link to that email to confirm license ownership. The extension does not receive or store card numbers, Stripe secret keys, or webhook secrets — full payment details are handled directly by Stripe and ExtensionPay under their own privacy policies.

Local license cache

The extension stores a minimal paid-state verification timestamp for a bounded 72-hour offline grace period. This cache cannot create paid access on its own and is replaced by the next successful online verification.

Telemetry and sharing

Fihrist Lab does not include advertising telemetry, invasive fingerprinting, hardware identifiers, or collection of unrelated browsing history. Payment providers process data under their own policies as needed to provide checkout and restoration.
